Here is how to disable comments on social media platforms that allow for the option. Normally I would advocate to be in favor of engagement but let’s face it, trolls are gross and sometimes it’s best to just share without the harassment of what the internet has become.

How To Disable Comments on Social Media

LinkedIn

  1. Start making a post
  2. Click on the visibility option
    1. Immediately under your brand name and will say Audience on brand accounts
    2. Immediately to the right of name on personal profiles. Might say Connections Only or Anyone
  3. Go to Advanced Settings
  4. Select Off for Allow Comments on This Post

Twitter

  1. Start making a post
  2. Bottom of Tweet window click on Everyone Can Reply
  3. Here you can change to only people you follow or only people you tag. If you don’t @ anyone, nobody can reply

Instagram

  1. Make a post by adding a picture or video
  2. Once you have your picture or video settings nailed, you’ll have an option to add your caption, add location, etc. At this screen look at the very bottom in small print Advanced Settings
  3. The top option will let you click to select to Turn Off Commenting

Facebook

Facebook only allows disabling comments in groups.

  1. Go to the post you wish to limit
  2. Click on the 3 dots menu on the top right of the post
  3. At the bottom click Disable Comments

Tumblr

  1. Go to Account Settings
  2. Blog Settings
  3. Turn off Let People Ask Questions

So, this is how to disable comments on social media in case you ever need to know. If I missed any, please let me know.
